Plenty of rain made for tough conditions but the Chicago fans held fast for a great day of music–and the thick cloud cover provided decent shooting conditions despite being drenched. Art of Dying played a quick 30-minute, five song set and swapped their 4:00 pm slot with Black Tide’s 3:20 start time.
Disturb‘s Dave Draiman was spotted side stage during their set, checking out the band he helped sign in 2009. Given their sharp rise this year after the release of Vices and Virtues, and relentless touring, it appears he made the right decision. Jonny Hetherington (vocals), Greg Bradley (guitar), Tavis Stanley (guitar) Cale Gontier (bass), and Jeff Brown (drums) have gelled in the past year and played a tight, energetic set.
