Art of Dying Open Avalanche Tour

Canadian act, Art of Dying, took the stage at 6:30 pm and got the early crowd going with a 30-minute opening set. Touring off their recent, debut release Vices and Virtues, they opened their set with Straight Across My Mind. Art of Dying have been gaining popularity over the past few years. From playing off the streets in Vancouver to performing at the acclaimed U.K. Download Festival to opening for Seether. They recently were signed by Disturbed to Intoxication Records, under Warner Bros., and the reaction they received showed that they were ready to open a major U.S. headline tour. Playing their first ever show in Milwaukee, they toasted the crowd halfway through the set with a bottle of Jack, and then led into Best I Can where vocalist Jonny Hetherington absolutely shined. About the only low-light from their set was their lyrically-simplistic closing tune Get Through This. Art of Dying has arrived. Doors open at 5:30 pm on this tour so get their early and check these guys out.

As always, the first song was performed under very dim red lighting for the opening act. I was able to get a few decent images, fortunately the light was gorgeous for the other bands. Head over to Sonic Rampage to see a complete set of images and a complete review of the show.
